Quick Answer

Is Margaritaville at The Island in Pigeon Forge Worth Visiting?

Based on my summer 2025 experience, yes—especially if you enjoy casual American food, tropical drinks, live music and a lively vacation atmosphere.

My brother and I stopped for a meal while exploring The Island, and the combination of food, music, riverfront scenery and Jimmy Buffett-inspired décor made it one of the more memorable restaurant stops of our trip.

Margaritaville Pigeon Forge is a two-level restaurant at The Island with indoor dining, bars, an outdoor deck overlooking the Little Pigeon River, a concert stage and a connected retail shop.

You do not need to be a dedicated Jimmy Buffett fan to enjoy it. The relaxed atmosphere works just as well for travelers looking for a fun meal in the middle of The Island.

My Experience

Was Margaritaville Pigeon Forge Worth the Stop?

For us, it was worth the stop.

The restaurant delivered what we hoped for: good casual food, generous portions, friendly service and a setting that felt different from a standard chain restaurant.

I would especially recommend it if you are already spending time at The Island.

You can have lunch or dinner, browse the retail shop, enjoy the surrounding attractions and continue exploring without moving your car.

Inside The Island

What Is Margaritaville at The Island?

Margaritaville at The Island is a tropical-themed restaurant inspired by the music and laid-back lifestyle associated with Jimmy Buffett.

It sits on the south end of The Island in Pigeon Forge and combines dining, drinks, live entertainment and a retail store in one location.

With palm trees, colorful décor, music and an outdoor deck overlooking the Little Pigeon River, the restaurant brings a beach-inspired atmosphere to the Smoky Mountains.

The restaurant spans two levels and includes multiple dining spaces and bars.

During our visit, we especially enjoyed the way it provided a lively atmosphere without making us feel like we had to rush through the meal.

Tropical Theme in the Smokies

What Is the Atmosphere Like at Margaritaville Pigeon Forge?

The atmosphere is casual, colorful and designed to feel like a tropical vacation in the middle of the Smoky Mountains.

Music, palm trees, island décor and multiple bar areas reinforce the Margaritaville theme.

One of the best features is the outdoor deck overlooking the Little Pigeon River.

It gives you a place to enjoy the energy of The Island while still feeling slightly removed from the busiest pedestrian areas.

Whether you are a longtime Jimmy Buffett fan or simply want an upbeat restaurant during your Pigeon Forge trip, the setting is a large part of the appeal.

What We Ordered

What Did We Eat at Margaritaville Pigeon Forge?

Volcano Nachos A huge shareable appetizer with tortilla chips, chili, cheese, pico de gallo, guacamole, sour cream and jalapeños.
Cheeseburger in Paradise My main course—juicy, flavorful and served with fries.
Watermelon Margarita Refreshing and a good match for the tropical atmosphere during our visit.

Nothing about our meal was trying to be overly complicated. The appeal was generous portions, familiar flavors and food that matched the fun setting.

You can review the latest selections on the official Margaritaville Pigeon Forge menu.

Are the Volcano Nachos Worth Ordering?

Yes, especially if you have someone to share them with.

The Volcano Nachos were one of the most memorable parts of our meal because of the sheer size of the serving.

For us, this was definitely a shareable appetizer rather than something I would order for one person.

If you are ordering entrées afterward, I would treat the nachos as a table appetizer. They are substantial enough that they could easily affect how hungry you are by the time your main meal arrives.

Family-Friendly Dining

Is Margaritaville Pigeon Forge Good for Families?

Yes. Margaritaville Pigeon Forge is a family-friendly restaurant and welcomes guests of all ages.

The restaurant also has a children’s menu with options such as a junior Cheeseburger in Paradise, chicken tenders, fried shrimp, fish and chips and macaroni and cheese.

The bright décor and energetic atmosphere also make it a restaurant where families do not have to worry about maintaining the quiet atmosphere expected at a more formal dining room.

Part of the Experience

Does Margaritaville Pigeon Forge Have Live Music?

Live music is part of the Margaritaville Pigeon Forge experience, although performances vary by date.

The restaurant has a concert stage and an outdoor entertainment area at the 5 O’Clock Somewhere Bar.

During our visit, live music on the patio was one of the highlights.

The musician was talented and engaging, and the music added atmosphere without overwhelming our conversation.

If live entertainment is important to you, check the restaurant’s current events schedule rather than assuming a performer will be there during every meal.

Our Meal

What Was the Service Like?

Our service was friendly, helpful and efficient.

The restaurant was busy, but we did not feel neglected or rushed.

The staff made useful recommendations and kept the meal moving at a comfortable pace.

That helped make the restaurant feel like part of our afternoon at The Island instead of a lengthy interruption to it.

Before You Leave

Does Margaritaville Pigeon Forge Have a Gift Shop?

Yes. A Margaritaville retail store is connected to the Pigeon Forge restaurant.

It sells clothing, souvenirs and island-themed merchandise, including items specific to the Margaritaville brand.

I stopped in before leaving and found plenty to browse, from T-shirts to fun vacation souvenirs.

If you are a Margaritaville fan, allow a few extra minutes rather than heading straight out after your meal.

A Fun Photo Stop

Do Not Miss the Oversized Beach Chair

The tropical theme continues outside the restaurant, including an oversized beach chair that makes an easy vacation photo stop.

I could not resist climbing into it for a picture before we left.

It is a small detail, but it fits the playful Margaritaville atmosphere and gives you something more personal than another photograph of the restaurant exterior.

Planning Ahead

Do You Need Reservations at Margaritaville Pigeon Forge?

Reservations are available, but whether you need one depends on when you visit.

We arrived without a reservation during our summer 2025 visit and were seated immediately, but that experience should not be taken as a guarantee of no wait.

Weekends, holidays and busy travel periods can bring larger crowds to The Island.

If you have a fixed dinner time or are traveling with a larger group, making a reservation can reduce uncertainty.

Easy Island Access

Where Do You Park for Margaritaville at The Island?

Parking at The Island in Pigeon Forge is free.

The main visitor lot is located between The Island and the LeConte Events Center, and complimentary trams carry guests from the lot to the entrance area.

That makes Margaritaville especially convenient if you plan to combine the meal with other attractions, shops or entertainment at The Island.

Current parking details are available from the official Island in Pigeon Forge parking guide.

Plan Your Time

How Much Time Should You Allow for Margaritaville Pigeon Forge?

I would allow about 45 minutes to an hour for a typical meal, plus extra time if you plan to browse the gift shop, listen to live music or enjoy drinks afterward.

Your visit could easily become longer if the restaurant is busy or if you get a patio seat and decide to relax rather than immediately moving on to the next attraction.

Make It Part of a Larger Visit

Can You Visit Margaritaville Without Spending the Day at The Island?

Yes, but I think it makes the most sense when combined with other things at The Island.

The complex has shopping, rides, restaurants and entertainment, and admission to The Island itself is free.

If you are already planning to ride the Great Smoky Mountain Wheel, watch the fountain, shop or explore other attractions, Margaritaville fits naturally into the same itinerary.
