The Experience

What Is Pirates Voyage Dinner & Show?

Pirates Voyage is an immersive Pigeon Forge dinner show built around a theatrical battle between the Crimson and Sapphire pirate crews.

Guests eat dinner while performers compete on land, aboard full-sized pirate ships, in the water and above the indoor lagoon.

The production is associated with Dolly Parton and combines a pirate adventure story with sword fighting, acrobatics, high diving, aerial performances, special effects and animal appearances.

The scale of the set is what immediately stood out to me.

This is not a small stage with a few pirate props. The indoor lagoon and ships make the theater itself part of the experience.

Full-sized pirate ships and an indoor lagoon create the setting for the Pirates Voyage performance.

Inside the Arena

What Is the Pirates Voyage Show Like?

The centerpiece is a large indoor lagoon surrounded by the two pirate crews and their ships.

Guests are seated to support either the Crimson Crew or Sapphire Crew as the pirates compete throughout the performance.

The action includes sword fighting, aerial stunts, acrobatics, diving and dramatic theatrical effects.

Mermaids and other characters add to the fantasy atmosphere, while the size of the arena allows parts of the show to unfold above, around and in front of the audience.

One of the advantages of a production this large is that there is almost always something happening somewhere in the arena.

I found myself watching the ships one moment and performers above the lagoon the next.

Part of the Production

Are There Animals in Pirates Voyage Pigeon Forge?

Yes. Animals are incorporated into parts of the Pirates Voyage production.

Current show information includes tropical birds, dogs and sea lions among the animal performers.

Salty the sea lion was especially memorable during our visit.

The animal appearances add another element to a show that already moves quickly between theatrical scenes, stunts and music.

The Pirate Feast

What Food Is Served at Pirates Voyage Pigeon Forge?

Admission includes a four-course dinner served while the show is taking place.

The current standard Pirates Voyage Pigeon Forge feast includes:

Starter Voyager Creamy Vegetable Soup and Buccaneer Biscuit
Main Course Cracklin’ Pan-Fried Chicken and Swashbucklin’ Sugar-Cured Ham
Sides Cob-O’ Butter Corn and Matey’s Mac ‘n’ Cheese
Dessert Apple O’ Me Eye Pie or Coconut Chocolate Cake
Drinks Unlimited Coca-Cola products, tea or coffee

The meal is brought out as the performance begins, so dinner and entertainment happen simultaneously rather than as separate parts of the evening.

That setup worked well during our visit. The servers handled the meal efficiently without making the dinner service feel like it was competing with the show.

Because menus can change, check the official Pirates Voyage Pigeon Forge menu when planning your visit.

Dietary Needs

Does Pirates Voyage Have Vegetarian or Gluten-Free Meals?

Yes. Pirates Voyage currently offers vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and dairy-free meal options.

Special meals should be selected or requested when making your reservation rather than waiting until you arrive.

The alternate menus are different from the standard feast, so review the current options before booking if anyone in your group has dietary restrictions or food allergies.

Plan Your Evening

How Long Is Pirates Voyage Pigeon Forge?

The main Pirates Voyage show lasts approximately 90 minutes.

However, I would allow considerably more time for the complete experience.

The theater opens before showtime for ticket pickup and pre-show activities.

If you arrive early, you can explore the pirate-themed atmosphere, browse the gift shop, purchase drinks or snacks and take photographs before entering the main performance.

For planning purposes, I would treat Pirates Voyage as the main event of your evening rather than trying to squeeze it between several other attractions.

Arrival Tip

How Early Should You Arrive at Pirates Voyage?

Pirates Voyage recommends arriving up to one hour before your scheduled showtime if you want time to enjoy the pre-show atmosphere.

If you are not interested in the pre-show activities, the venue still recommends arriving at least 30 minutes early so you have time for ticket pickup and seating without feeling rushed.

Arriving early also gives you more time for exterior and pre-show photographs before the main performance begins.

Before the Main Show

What Can You Do Before Pirates Voyage Begins?

The experience begins before you reach your seat.

Guests can explore Pirates Village, browse the gift shop and purchase pirate-themed drinks and snacks.

An optional Join the Crew experience allows guests to receive pirate- or mermaid-inspired facial makeup and accessories for an additional charge.

Availability can be limited, which is another reason to arrive early if this is important to your group.

Photography tip: Use this time for exterior, lobby and themed-detail photographs, then follow the venue’s current photography rules once the performance begins.

The colorful staging, action and pirate theme make Pirates Voyage an experience designed for a broad range of ages.

Family-Friendly Entertainment

Is Pirates Voyage Good for Families?

Yes. Pirates Voyage is designed as a family-friendly Pigeon Forge dinner show.

The pirate story, animals, ships, stunts and audience participation give younger guests plenty to watch, while the scale of the production makes it entertaining for adults as well.

It also works for couples, friend groups and solo travelers who enjoy live entertainment.

You do not need children in your group to appreciate the production.

One thing families should know is that the show includes loud effects and a high-energy environment.

Guests who are sensitive to noise are permitted to bring noise-reducing or noise-canceling headphones.

Not Just for Kids

Is Pirates Voyage Good for Adults Without Kids?

Yes. I would not consider Pirates Voyage an attraction only for families with young children.

The acrobatics, elaborate staging, dinner and fast-moving production make it an entertaining evening for adults as well.

If you enjoy theatrical attractions, themed dining or simply want something different from a traditional restaurant dinner, it can work well for couples and adult groups.

What to Wear

What Should You Wear to Pirates Voyage?

There is no formal dress code.

Comfortable casual clothing works well, although shirts and shoes are required.

Guests are also welcome to wear pirate-themed clothing if they want to lean into the experience.

Because you will be seated through dinner and a 90-minute show, comfort is more important than dressing up.
