UPDATE: The Sweet Boutique is moving onto the grounds of The Ashford Acres Inn in Cynthiana!!
During my recent getaway to Cynthiana, I had the pleasure of staying at the serene and stunning Ashford Acres Inn—a peaceful retreat that I can’t recommend highly enough. But when it came time for breakfast and a bit of morning productivity, I kept hearing one name over and over from locals and fellow visitors alike: Sweet Boutique.

Located right on East Pike Street in historic downtown Cynthiana, Sweet Boutique lived up to every bit of the hype. I stepped inside on a bright morning, laptop in hand and coffee on the brain, and was instantly met with the scent of fresh espresso and baked goods, along with the buzz of conversation and clinking coffee cups. The place was hustling and bustling—a sure sign of a local favorite.

What struck me first was the warmth of the staff. Even amidst a busy morning rush, they greeted each customer like an old friend. The atmosphere was cozy yet vibrant, with stylish décor and plenty of natural light pouring in—exactly the kind of space that makes you want to linger. Whether you’re grabbing a quick bite or settling in for a few hours (like I did), it’s incredibly inviting.

I ordered a breakfast wrap and a handcrafted latte, which were both phenomenal. The wrap was hearty and flavorful, while the latte was perfectly balanced and beautifully presented. As someone who travels often and works from the road, finding a place like this—with great food, a welcoming atmosphere, and solid Wi-Fi—is gold.

While I worked, I couldn’t help but notice how versatile the space is. Couples stopped in for a casual breakfast date, friends gathered for morning catch-ups, and there were signs for upcoming private events like baby showers and small celebrations. It’s not just a café—it’s a community hub.
If you’re planning a visit to Cynthiana—whether for a solo retreat, a couple’s weekend, or a girls’ getaway—I highly recommend carving out a morning to stop by Sweet Boutique. Come for the breakfast, stay for the vibes, and don’t be surprised if you find yourself making excuses to return later in the day for dessert.

Pro tip: They also serve Graeter’s ice cream, cocktails, and a rotating menu of baked goods throughout the day. It’s the kind of place where one visit just isn’t enough.
Until next time, Cynthiana—thanks for the sweet start.
