SlotZilla Zipline: Flying Over Fremont Street Despite My Fear of Heights
I am afraid of heights. That makes choosing the face-down SlotZilla Zoomline over Fremont Street sound like a questionable travel decision—but it became one of the experiences I remember most from Las Vegas.
Is SlotZilla Worth Doing in Las Vegas?
For me, yes. SlotZilla was worth it because the experience was not only exciting—it turned something I was genuinely afraid to do into one of the most memorable moments of my Las Vegas trip.
I do not casually describe myself as someone who dislikes heights.
I am genuinely afraid of them.
Looking down from a high balcony can make me uncomfortable, so voluntarily allowing myself to be suspended above Fremont Street did not exactly sound like the obvious choice.
But travel has a way of convincing me to try things that I would probably talk myself out of at home.
That is how I ended up choosing the SlotZilla Zoomline—the face-down, superhero-style version.

What Was It Like Riding SlotZilla With a Fear of Heights?
The hardest part for me was not the actual flight. It was everything leading up to the moment I launched.
Once I committed to the Zoomline, the reality of what I had agreed to became increasingly obvious.
I was nervous.
The staff noticed.
And that is one of the things I remember most positively about the experience.
They were reassuring without dismissing the fact that I was afraid. They explained what was happening, checked the equipment and approached the process with a confidence that helped me trust what I was doing.
That mattered.
There is a difference between someone telling you, “Don’t be scared,” and someone behaving in a way that actually makes you feel safer.
The SlotZilla staff did the second.
Then It Was Time to Fly
The anticipation disappeared almost immediately once I was moving.
I was flying face-down above Fremont Street with my arms out in front of me.
The lights were below me.
People were moving through the pedestrian mall underneath.
The overhead canopy stretched ahead.
Everything I had been worried about before the launch was replaced by the realization that I was actually doing it.
I may have screamed a little.
But I also loved it.
The ride itself went by much faster than the nervous anticipation beforehand, and that made the experience almost funny afterward. I had spent so much energy worrying about something that became pure exhilaration once I was in motion.
What Stood Out About the SlotZilla Experience
The Staff
Their calm, professional approach made a genuine difference when they realized I was nervous.
The View
Seeing Fremont Street from above gives you an entirely different sense of the canopy, crowds and scale of Downtown Las Vegas.
The Position
Flying face-down on the Zoomline makes the experience feel much more like actual flight than a traditional seated zipline.
The Atmosphere
Fremont Street already has a tremendous amount of visual energy. Flying directly through that environment makes the ride distinctly Las Vegas.
The Photos
Having a photo or video afterward gives you something tangible from an experience that otherwise passes very quickly.
The Personal Win
The part that mattered most to me was realizing I had done something I truly expected to be afraid of—and enjoyed it.
Do Not Ride SlotZilla and Leave Fremont Street
SlotZilla is only one reason to spend time at Fremont Street Experience.
Downtown Las Vegas feels different from the Strip.
It is more concentrated, more pedestrian-oriented and filled with neon, live entertainment, street activity and the enormous Viva Vision canopy overhead.
Current Fremont Street information lists Viva Vision light shows beginning nightly at 6:00 p.m., generally at the top of each hour. Schedules and special events can change, so check the official calendar before visiting.
There are also live performances on Fremont Street stages throughout the year.
I would give yourself time to walk the area rather than treating SlotZilla as an attraction you arrive for and immediately leave afterward.

Can You Get SlotZilla Ride Photos?
Yes. SlotZilla currently offers ride-photo and video options, although packages and pricing should be checked at the time of your visit.
I was glad to have something from the ride afterward.
When an experience happens quickly—and especially when you are busy concentrating on not panicking—you do not necessarily process every second while it is happening.
Looking back at the images and video gave me a chance to relive the part where fear turned into fun.

My SlotZilla Tips
- Choose your ride style carefully. The traditional Zipline is seated; the Zoomline is the face-down superhero-style experience.
- Do not assume fear means you cannot enjoy it. I was extremely nervous and still ended up loving the experience.
- Listen to the staff. Their instructions and equipment checks are part of the process.
- Check rider restrictions before purchasing. Weight, height and other eligibility rules apply and can change.
- Arrive with enough time. Do not schedule yourself so tightly that being late adds another layer of stress.
- Consider the photo or video. The actual flight is fast, and having a record afterward can be worth it.
- Plan time for Fremont Street too. SlotZilla should be part of a Downtown Las Vegas visit rather than your only reason for being there.
- Check current pricing directly. Ticket prices vary by ride type, day and available promotions.
Would I Ride SlotZilla Again?
Yes. Even with my fear of heights, I would do the Zoomline again.
That probably says more about the experience than anything else I could write.
The fear was real.
So was the exhilaration.
And afterward, there was the satisfaction of knowing I had not allowed the fear to make the decision for me.
That is why SlotZilla became more than another Las Vegas attraction in my memory.
It became one of those travel experiences that reminds me why trying something unfamiliar can matter.

It was for me. The combination of the face-down flight, the Fremont Street view and the satisfaction of facing my fear made it one of the most memorable attractions from my Las Vegas trip.
