Maverick Helicopters: Seeing Las Vegas From Above
The Las Vegas Strip is impressive from the sidewalk. From a helicopter, it becomes something completely different—a continuous ribbon of landmarks, lights and architecture stretching beneath you.
Is a Maverick Helicopters Las Vegas Flight Worth It?
For me, yes. The flight was short, but seeing the Las Vegas Strip and Downtown from above gave me a perspective I could never have gotten from walking or driving through the city.
Las Vegas is already a city built around scale.
Hotels are enormous. Signs are enormous. Attractions are designed to pull your attention in every direction.
Then you take off in a helicopter and suddenly all of those individual landmarks become part of one landscape.
That was what made my Vegas Views flight with Maverick Helicopters memorable.

What Was the Maverick Helicopters Experience Like?
The experience felt polished before we ever left the ground.
Maverick operates from its own Strip-area terminal rather than treating the helicopter flight like a quick amusement ride.
Check-in, the waiting area, the safety briefing and boarding all felt organized and professional.
That matters with an experience like this.
A helicopter flight may be exciting, but you still want the process around it to feel calm and controlled.
Our pilot was friendly, engaging and reassuring. He pointed out landmarks during the flight and made the experience feel comfortable rather than rushed.
What Is the Helicopter Like?
Maverick uses helicopters designed with sightseeing in mind.
The cabin features leather seating and large wraparound windows, which are important when the entire point of the experience is the view outside.
Current Vegas Views information says the flight can carry up to six guests unless all seats are purchased for a private experience.
One thing to know before booking: you cannot simply choose whichever seat you want.
Seat assignments are based on aircraft weight and balance, so the final placement is determined at check-in.
I would go into the experience expecting the flight itself to be the highlight rather than assuming you will receive a particular seat.
What Do You See on Vegas Views?
The first thing that struck me was how quickly Las Vegas changed once we were airborne.
From the ground, the Strip feels like a series of enormous destinations.
From the helicopter, you see how tightly everything fits together.
On my flight, I saw the Bellagio fountains during a performance and the Eiffel Tower at Paris Las Vegas illuminated below us.
Flying around The STRAT was another standout moment.
Current Vegas Views routes can include aerial views of landmarks such as Bellagio, the Sphere, Wynn, Caesars Palace, High Roller, Allegiant Stadium, The STRAT, Fremont Street and Historic Downtown.
The precise view will naturally depend on the route, conditions and timing of your flight.
What Stood Out Most to Me
The Scale
Las Vegas makes more sense spatially from the air. You see how the Strip, Downtown and surrounding city relate to one another.
The Lights
Nighttime turns individual signs, hotels and attractions into one enormous field of color.
The Bellagio Fountains
Catching the fountains during the flight added another layer to a landmark I had already seen from the ground.
The STRAT
Seeing the tower from helicopter height was one of the moments that made the flight feel cinematic.
The Pilot
A knowledgeable, calm pilot helped make the short flight feel like a complete sightseeing experience rather than simply transportation through the air.
The Photography
Even with the challenges of nighttime reflections and movement, the aerial perspective provides photographs you simply cannot make from street level.
Can You Take Photos During a Maverick Helicopter Flight?
Yes. Maverick currently allows passengers to photograph and record video during Vegas Views, but flash should remain off.
Photographing Las Vegas from a moving helicopter at night comes with a few challenges.
The most important one is reflections.
Keep your flash off and, when possible, position the camera or phone close to the window without pressing or interfering with anything around you.
Watch for bright interior reflections and concentrate on larger scenes instead of expecting every frame to be perfectly sharp.
I also recommend taking time to actually look outside.
It is easy to become so focused on getting photographs that you experience the entire flight through a screen.

Does Maverick Fly Beyond the Las Vegas Strip?
Yes.
Vegas Views is the short sightseeing flight I experienced, but Maverick currently offers additional flights from Las Vegas that combine aerial sightseeing with destinations such as Red Rock Canyon and the Grand Canyon.
Some Grand Canyon experiences include landings, while others are designed as aerial sightseeing excursions.
I would treat those as completely different experiences from Vegas Views rather than simply longer versions of the same flight.
If your priority is seeing Las Vegas from above without using a large portion of your day, Vegas Views is the more compact option.
My Tips for a Las Vegas Helicopter Tour
- Arrive early. Give yourself time for check-in, weighing, seat assignment and the safety briefing.
- Do not count on choosing your seat. Seating is assigned according to aircraft weight and balance.
- Wear dark clothing if photography matters to you. Darker clothing can help reduce reflections in the windows at night.
- Turn off your flash. Flash creates reflections and is unnecessary for photographing the illuminated city below.
- Have your camera ready before takeoff. A 10–12 minute flight goes quickly.
- But put the camera down occasionally. Give yourself at least a few moments to simply watch Las Vegas pass beneath you.
- Check current pricing before booking. Maverick uses variable pricing based on availability, seasonality and demand.
- Review cancellation rules. Policies can change, so confirm the current terms when making your reservation.
Would I Take the Flight Again?
Yes. I would especially recommend a Las Vegas helicopter flight to someone who values views, photography and experiences that show a familiar destination from a completely different angle.
The flight itself is short.
But short does not necessarily mean forgettable.
In those few minutes, Las Vegas stopped looking like a collection of individual resorts and became one illuminated landscape.
That perspective is what made the experience worth doing for me.
